The Challenge
The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) is a global organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable cotton production. Their Better Cotton Platform (BCP) is a crucial tool for managing and documenting cotton volumes throughout the supply chain. BCI relies heavily on Salesforce to ensure the smooth operation of this platform and support their mission. However, their assurance process, crucial for verifying compliance with Better Cotton standards, was largely manual, relying on spreadsheets and email, creating inefficiencies and potential data quality issues. Since 2020, BCI has partnered with Solution Junkies to enhance their Salesforce platform through project implementations and ongoing managed services.
Recognising the need for a robust and adaptable system, BCI sought to optimise their use of Salesforce to better serve their stakeholders, advance their sustainability goals, and modernise their assurance program. They required seamless data exchange between systems, improved stakeholder engagement, streamlined internal processes, and a significantly enhanced assurance workflow.
The Solution
BCI partnered with Solution Junkies to enhance their Salesforce platform. Solution Junkies played a key role in developing integrations between Salesforce and the BCP, automating the crucial exchange of data between the two platforms. This involved custom development and configuration within the Salesforce environment, tailored to BCI's specific needs. Solution Junkies worked closely with the Assurance team to digitise and streamline their processes within Salesforce. This included custom development to manage data collection, automate seasonal setup, and integrate it with their traceability system.
Furthermore, Solution Junkies developed the My Better Cotton Community Portal with Experience Cloud to provide a central hub for stakeholder interaction and implemented integrations with Trakstar Learn to streamline training program management. Ongoing managed services ensure the platform remains optimised and up-to-date.
